"A Narrative on Various Interests"

The North Texas Ice Storm of ‘09

Freezing rain was forecast for last night and today here in Arlington, TX. I was skeptical that we would actually get such weather here today since it was 82 degrees on Saturday. The picture below tells the whole story and how I stand by the saying that, if you don’t like the weather in Texas, just wait 30 minutes.

The trees are covered in a thin layer of ice (for now) and seem to be holding up pretty well. Some of the shrubs are not as fortunate. Their branches are weeping downwards from the icy chill.

Even the potted cactus in our back yard didn’t escape the icicle formations.

I’m glad I have plenty of firewood, just in case the electricity goes off tonight.
