An Apple Mac Programming Resource

I’ve been using a Mac for over six years now. I’m a big fan of the platform, and from the perspective of a big computer nerd like me it is not only challenging but also a lot of fun to program. I’ve decided that I’m going to be using this website as a springboard for teaching others how to program under both iOS and Mac OS X.

Have I mentioned that I love to program?

I’m going to try to approach teaching both since the fundamentals of each are so similar. It will also be helpful since I’m a member of both of the developer programs.

Apple had announced a dramatic new change to the way some applications can be distributed on the Mac platform. Similar to the iPad and iPhone, Mac apps will be available for purchase via the Apple App Store in the future. This will provide an easy and affordable way to get your custom application in front of millions of Mac users!

This page will contain an outline of links to my blog posts, listed by subject in the order that I recommend reading them. I’ll be covering topics including Objective-C, object-oriented programming, and the Xcode programming environment.

I will be referring to publications that should become part of your own personal programming library. I will have link to them and I highly recommend you purchase a copy of your own if you intend to become a serious Mac programmer.

Note that I personally own any and all books I reference or recommend on this website.
